MV Special participation breakdown.
Drop by Just Hush’s channel for more of his music!
In the midst of quarantine, everybody still pursue their passion and that’s what Just Hush portrayed when I met him. His interest in Japanese arts and practices led us to participate in his music video. He was quite shy, friendly and he seems down to earth. Honestly, I don’t listen to OPM (Original Pilipino Music) songs now, unlike before, maybe that’s why I never heard of him, but his music is mostly in R&B genre which I like. We were invited to a Lightroom studio where our sole purpose is, to do what we do in Kendo. The basic Ritsu-rei, Keiko and Kamae were taken in both still shots, moving shots and close up shots.
Here’s the breakdown of the Kendo performance in the video for those who are curious.
It was a quick performance, but exciting because we haven’t had any practice since the whole pandemic started so we were ecstatic. We might have gone all out with our sparring which felt good because it’s been too long. Our shots were edited in silhouette form so it creates a mystery almost like a portrayal of (in my opinion) “internal battles in a forbidden love story” which I derive from the music video and the song. It seems fitting as well that my sparring partner is a male which is Tito Ron.
Not many knows Kendo unless you take a dig deep dive on the internet or is an anime fanatic or a Japanese culture lover so it’s a pleasure to expose Kendo in a different platform. Personally, I loved how they added that 25 seconds of us preparing for the “battle”. It is where we were wearing our Men (head gear) which creates a thought-provoking introduction to the whole video and it stimulates you on how well it’ll match with the song.
