The pandemic halted all our activities and that goes for our routines as well. No sports, no gyms, no pools…

Being in quarantine does not mean we cannot train or work out anymore, we just have to find an alternative.

I am an athlete, so the news of the sudden halt of all activities left us to be creative at what we can do to work out in the safety of our homes. There are multiple ways actually. Apart from doing house chores, lifting actual weights or rolling on a gym ball can be a good thing, that is, if it’s available. The shortage of equipment led to people finding different ways to spend their time and sometimes it can lead to the kitchen. The development of quarantine bellies began after the hoarding of stocks and supplies in the grocery. Although not all fell for it, it is still hard when you were used to sports being part of your daily routine.

Fitness coaches also turned to online sessions since physical contact or gyms were closed during lockdown and it became a sensation. People can find whatever work out they want at any time of the day so long as it does require equipments. There are dances, yoga, basic Pilates, boxing, high intensity interval trainings… it is practically endless.

Although at least, after waiting for a long time, gyms, pools and courts eventually reopened. Getting instruction on screen may be convenient, but it cannot ensure that what you have been doing is correct. It is still better having your trainer near you. So this quarantine, watch how I spent my whole November trying to stay active indoors and outdoors.
